If all the promises of AI and AI agents in supply chain management come true, what will be left for us humans to do?
After a month on the road, attending various supply chain and logistics events, I’ve come back with a serious question: If all the promises of AI and AI agents in supply chain management come true, what will be left for us humans to do?
We will have time for more “value-added work” is what we’re told, but then the next press release and solution demo shows AI agents doing some of that value-added work too.
There is an AI agent for planning, one for procurement, one for dispatching, one for customer service, one for inventory management, one for exception management, one for appointment scheduling, one for order management, one for invoicing, one for product classification, one for pricing…one for just about everything, really.
And these agents will supposedly…
